First Annual Rapathon held in New York
May 14th, 2007 · Filed under Society, Sounds by bossladyOn Saturday, May 12, the Global Artists Association in partnership with New York radio station HOT 97, Turner Network, and Converse attempted to break a Guinness World Record with the first annual Rapathon.
The Rapathon was held at the Hip-Hop Center Culture Center in Harlem, New York.
The Rapathon consisted of approximately 100 old school and new school artists and DJ’s, who took turns performing over a span of 24 hours to create the world’s longest, ongoing rhyme session.
No cursing and abusive or foul language was allowed in the lengthy rhyme session.
Tickets were priced at $100 to raise funds to keep the venue – the Hip-Hop Culture Center – open all year round.
DrJays.com were in attendance and we were amazed at the amount of young talent in hip-hop today staying true to the music’s essence. Keep hope alive!

Think about it… What do you think of my horrible woodland Nice joke! Why is a turkey more evil than a chicken? Because a turkey is always a gobblin (a goblin)
