Are Kimora’s child support demands crazy?

Russell Simmons, Kimora Lee Simmons and daughters Ming Lee and Aoki Lee
Documents filed yesterday in Los Angeles Supreme Court show that Baby Phat CEO Kimora Lee Simmons is requesting that ex-husband (Phat Farm creator and Baby Phat co-creator) Russell Simmons pay $20,000 per month for each of their two daughters in child support.
This means $240,000 per year for Ming Lee, 8 (up until 2019) and Aoki Lee, 6 (up until 2022) which is a whopping $480,000 in total.
Considering her own personal fortune, do you think Kimora is being reasonable or crazy?

I like Kimmora, but she’s a greedy over the edge ASIAN (Yeah I had to point it out bec she calls herself black and its clear she is NOT). She can more than afford to take care of those two brats. They get free clothes from baby phat and i’m sure other endorcements give her freebies for them as well. I hope the judge doesnt grant her this child support amount AND sole custody. Shiiiiiit, she wants that for the kids only God knows what she wants for alimony and assests part!

Her demands are CRAZY, she wants all this money from Russell when Russell can’t even see he’s kids without security or nannies around. She has a business and she’s making money what does an eight and five year old need? I would assume they have free clothes from baby phat, they may go to private school, and everything else they do is pointless. So they have nannies and assistants choose one five and eight year olds don’t need all that, Russell even let her keep the saddle river estate if he’s giving all that money then what is her money from PHAT FASHIONS doing? That is ridiculous, absurd and she really needs to rethink that, especially since a lot of the things she has is a waste of money

she is so full of herself. what’s the point of making money from your career if your not going to use it for your children. Come on I don’t think russell if neglecting his children to be paying child support. if he wasn’t in their lives or went off somewhere, then fair enough. she should stop buying things she doesn’t need and start to look after her children properly, not pay someone to do it. the money is probably for the help anyways.

Umm. I think it sounds ridiculous due to them already having so much together as it is. I mean they are both rich and i’m pretty sure tha those girls will never want for anything nor will he have any problem with providing for them. They seem to have a good relationship, but it seems to me that Kimora wants to be in control of everything. Because in the latest show, she stated that she was now a “single mom” which she isnt. she just divorced the father of THEIR children. I think russell has let kimora run him for so long that he just might go ahead and pay that much but i really dont see her actually seeing that money since they already have MILLIONS of dollars.If she makes him pay that, she will be a money hungry, pedy,bossy,controlling ****. So i don’t think he should have to pay that much or any.

I think it is crazy it is not like Russ is not supporting the children. He is a good father and he is supporting them. What is mess up about is why in the heck does the children needs nannies and security around Russ? I don’t understand but Kimora let old Amistad around her children and she barely even knows the man. If I was Russ, I would demand some security too. I would fight fire with fire. Kimoras needs a reality check because she will have all that money if it was not for Russell Simmons himself.

Luxury I agree on the first part of what you said but disagree on the second. I feel that it’s not necessarily white people or just white people we have to worry about. There is a bunch of races that don’t like blacks just for the sake of not liking blacks. Or for some other reason like the person that cut them off was black so they’re not going to like the whole race. Hell there’s blacks that get hated on by blacks.
I feel what your saying and it does still happen. But I’ve been screwed over by people of all races, but i’ve also been helped out by people of all races. It’s a case by case basis and we’ve got to play the game better than the others.

Okay, maybe $20,000 a kid for us may sound like alot, but to them it’s not, not only because they make so much, but because we don’t know how much they spend. And it’s not like Russell is going to go broke over this… I also do not believe that this has anything to do with race… If Kimora is going to us all of that money for her kids (which im sure she is) then it’s all good… $20 grands for her is nothing, and most likely she will use that money to better her kids futures. Until we know what she really spends to take care of her kids, I doubt that anyone should be kalling her krazy. I think we should be proud of ANYONE no matter what race who does something produktive with their lives and isn’t using my tax money and claiming welfare.

I hear ya Luxury, but unfortunately since they are in the spotlight all of their business is known to the world. And as a young lady who was a single mother, no matter how cool you are with your ex, having legal documents to document everything is the best thing. And people will always say that what we women ask for in child support is too much, but if your not around to see how much it really cost to raise a kid, then buddy you don’t know what is too much. And yes I do agree that it would have been a little hard for her to come up with the money, impossible I don’t think so, but yes a little hard. But I do believe that they helped each other, and also everyone has a past but what is important is that she works hard and from what I’ve seen she is a good mother, let’s face it she’s no Britney Spears…

haha true akiz but i’ve seen single mothers get money from their ex’s but basically leave their kids with their parents so they can go party their arse off. I know a girl to this day is making a crap load of money still gets money from her ex and has not seen her kids.
I think you’ve seen what the camera wants you to see. The editing etc. But we’ve seen her slipups etc.
I know food, diapers etc isn’t cheap but you got to think about she gets clothes and other ish for free, she has the baby phat and lord knows what else. Basically the 20g a month per child is for attention/publicity (which she got), and to have him lose face, and just to further mess with him.

kimora is freaking crazy. you got single mothers with kids who’s father do not make as much, and the mother does not get enough to buy her kids food, pay daycare, clothes, necessities to live while rich parents get enough child support to support the kid, them, and a starving country over in africa. hell no kimora should not get that much. what they need to do is take half of that monthly child support, put it a fund to help the single mothers who don’t get jack, or barely nothing at all.

And yeah it does matter how much money she is making. If the roles were reversed everyone would say he shouldn’t get child support because he is making money.

I think she is CRAZY she is not there with her kids and she want her ex to pay half a million for child support. Then she has a person watching the father of his kids that is CRAZY. I love Kimora and I don’t think that $40,000/mo for her kids is a lot at all. True she has madd money just like Russ, however, they still have to eat and get an education, and the schools stars put they kids in are not cheap and compared to what she could have asked for, I think he’s getting a break!! Honestly I don’t think that her demands are off the wall. I would understand if Russell Simmons was only making 100k a year like a regular man (and alot of people don’t even make that) but he isn’t. Her kids are acustomed to that lifestyle and why should they take a hit because they’re parents are getting a divorce. Also I think the press is trying to paint a bad picture of the situation. Yeah it’s sad because they put in some time with each other, build an empire and portrayed a positive strong black family unit. Hell we don’t even know it probably was Russell who agreed to pay that amount. I’ve known several good black men who went down to the child support office themselves and put themeselves on paper so it wouldn’t be any confusion. Whenever people bring up child support and black folks the only two things come to mind is “money grubbing golddigger” or “sorry ass ****” and the press is trying to play that up. So I just hope everything remains civil between them…….

Of course Kimora’s support demands are crazy, there are mother’s out there who are taking care of their kids on much less, what makes her children more special or more needy than the rest? The last time I heard she has two beautiful, active children who don’t have any birth defects or deseases that would result in Kimora in needing more money than she already ranks in every year. See this kind of stuff is what separates REAL women and the FAKE. Think of all the other mothers out there who’s situation is far more worst than Kimora’s and have to make ends meet with much less. I mean Russell continues to play in Aioki and Ming Lee’s lives and is the reason for Kimora’s success, so what if your ex-husband is weathly that does not mean you milk him for his money, be reasonable Kimora.

Kimora, I love you to death, but yes, I believe $20 grand per child a month is pretty outrageous, unless the school is more expensive for children of celebrities than a normal school. I think $5 grand per child is more reasonable for children Ming and Aoki’s age, and when they get to be teenagers, then $10 grand is more than enough. I mean, Russell gave you Baby Phat AND Phat Farm, and you have a Hello Kitty jewelry line, KLS and Fabulosity, so it’s not like you’re broke. You said it yourself that your merchandise grosses millions, so why would you need more money? I agree with Saba that you’re being way too greedy. Yes her child support demands are outrageous. First of all she would not be where she is today without Russell. Personally, I think she married him for the money and the potential to grow her own empire. I bet you all that money she’s requesting will go to her and her louis vuitton collection. WOW! I cant even believe that mess. She have daughters and run her own business, takes care of her house without all those assisants kimora have and her husband is in the military now that is what i call a true black woman doing a business in america. To me it doesn’t matter in the amount of how much child support he will pay. All that matter is that he supports the kids. If they are use to a exspensive lifestyle than you would not want to change it. It is not like kimora is sitting at home doing nothing. She is up working and providing for her princesses everyday. She is moving on and not trying to bank off of him. So he should still pay child support for the girls, to show them that no matter what happen with him and mommy he is still there for them! Child support is ment for the mother or father that need help taking care of their kids. But unfortunately the law get’s abused in an effort to get back at the other for whatever reason. In most cases the kids don’t even really see the money. The kids are used more as a tool or weapon.
Does she need financial help? No she doesn’t, she just did this to get publicity and mess with russell at the same time.

A lot of divorces end in what the courts say but is not always followed. Yes the money is always a issue. I just want to say, if he’s willing to pay then let him. we have to remember that this money is the children’s money (not the parents). I’m sure by the time they get grown and be on they own they would be multi-millionaire’s (not only the father putting away money for them for education wise but the mother is doing it as well). I’m afraid that the children will not know the value of money (because it will be handed to them on a silver or should I say a platnium platter). Now to comment on what akiz said about the welfare and how her tax dollars have to pay for it; I work to and I get my taxes back each year just like you do. People like you make me sick because all you do is think about yourself. Taxes go all over not just for welfare.
